What is Drip Irrigation?

Sprinkle of irrigation water with dissoluble fertilizer or without fertilizer into or on the soil surface after draining and filtering is called drip irrigation.

Undoubtedly the pressure should be low to give water in drops. It is known that the most important input to increase agricultural production is irrigation.

However, the application of various irrigation methods depends on certain conditions. Traditional irrigation methods can only be applied on levelled land.

Moreover, there should be plenty of quality water and suitable for irrigation. Won't the areas where the water is insufficient and salty be irrigated?

If the climate and land of these regions are suitable for cultivation of plants of high economic value, the water problem does not matter. The plant of high economic value will provide high income. In order to achieve this, a new irrigation method was developed which eliminates water problems. The name of this new method, which is becoming increasingly widespread in the world and in our country, is drip irrigation. Drip irrigation is an expensive method. However, it is applied in cultivating plants of high economic value, and particularly in greenhouses which have extra initial investment costs so as to enable automatic irrigation and needs less manpower.
